Ingredients:
Topping:
½ C. golden brown sugar, packed
1 C. old fashioned oats
½ C. flour
¼ Tsp. salt
1 Tsp. golden fig apple pie spice
1 stick butter
Filling:
2 pounds Braeburn, Haralson or Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, sliced
3 ounces dried cranberries
1/2C. golden brown sugar, packed
1 tsp. golden fig apple pie spices
¼ C. apple brandy or apple juice
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 375 F.
Topping: Combine sugar, oats, flour, salt, and apple pie spice; add butter and rub in with finger tips until mixture comes together in moist clumps; set aside.
Filling: In mixing bowl combine apples, cranberries, sugar and apple pie spice; toss to coat. Pour in apple brandy or apple juice and toss again to coat.
Butter a 1½ quart baking dish, spoon apple mixture into prepared dish. Sprinkle topping over. Bake uncovered for 40 to 45 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is golden brown.
