Yes smoked. Make sure it is not too salty. Last batch I made I bought smoked salmon and it turned out way too salty.

Smoked salmon, Cream cheese, white onion, pepper, salt. Yum, Yum.. The only way to go. You can add hot sauce if your into that sort of thing. Salmon to cream cheese ratio should be 2:1 or 1:1 and the other ingrediants to taste preference. Usually light on the salt and pepper. I like to use 1/4 of an onion at least.

    Anyone have recipe for this?

I got this one from the executive chef of a few north-shore restaurants. Definitely a winner:

    -smoked salmon
    -cream cheese
-fresh thyme (to taste, start with less, add more)
-fresh dill (a little goes a long way)
-spoonful of sour cream to thin

It’s super simple, but use a ratio of 1:1 for the salmon and cream cheese. For the dill and thyme, I used about a tsp. or 2 for each, but make sure they’re both fresh and not the dried variety. You really won’t do this justice without.

Made two 8oz pkgs of cream-cheese worth of this last week for a group of 12 and it was gone in 20 minutes.
