    Beings my favorite cole slaw and fish seasons just about here whats everybodys favorite recipie, heres mine.

    Cabbage thinly cut and diced or a package from the store, its easier.

    1 tablespoon of sweet pickle relish, dosen’t matter a whole lot what kind because thier all good.

    Celery seed to taste.

    Pepper, white or black

    Miracle whip or mayo.

    A little milk to loosen the ingredients up and make it uniform.

    A little Sugar and a little vinegar to taste.

    I mix everything together and go for it especially with deep fried freshly caught fish…Man my mouths watering now but going after deep fried gizzards here in a few minutes at a new place here in town that just opened thier doors, thier supposed to be good.

    Slice cabbage and grate carrots into a bowl. Add Kraft coleslaw dressing. Add celery seed, salt, and pepper to taste. Takes 5 minutes and tastes just as good as home made, 100 times better than store bought coleslaw.

    Beat me to it! There is just something about the spicey/bite it has to it that makes it irresistible!

    I do the same basic recipe except I add about a tbls of prepared mustard to this as well as a tsp of vinegar and then adjust the sweetness.

    A tblsof honey sets this off as does a tsp of gr. horse radish.

    The KFC recipe…although I made it with 14 pounds of cabbage….

    * 4 1/2 teaspoons tarragon vinegar
    * 6 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil
    * 3/4 cup chopped onion
    * 2 1/2 cups Miracle Whip
    * 1 cup sugar
    * 2 carrots
    * 2 heads cabbage

    Directions:

    1
    Mix oil, onions and sugar.

    2
    Add tarragon vinegar.

    3
    Fold in Miracle Whip.

    4
    Pour over grated carrots and cabbage.

    5
    Fold in well.

    6
    Refrigerate in an air-tight covered dish.

    7
    Best if made the night before serving.

    8
    The tarragon is the secret seasoning.

    9
    Compare with the real KFC coleslaw.

    With todays prepackaged dressing and Kustom Kut veggies, we are missing the true taste of what the Col served and he wouldn’t be very happy with this substitute if he were here today.

    I forgot the vineger Tom, I use a little too at maybe 1/2 a cap full so it just sets it off. A little horseradish is a very good idea for the twang, ever try mustard powder instead of mustard out of the bottle? I wonder if that might be better. I might have to try the liquid mustard at a little at a time but it does sound like it might work.

    I’m finicky when it comes to slaw.

    I’ll have to try Jimmy’s, can’t say I’ve ever had it.

    There’s only two that I’ll take a good helping of.

    KFC and the Bluff’s in Hager City.

    All others are too creamy or taste blah. And the folks that put in them little seeds…YUCK!

    2 store bought coleslaw mixes
    1 Jimmy’s pineapple slaw dressing
    1 1/2 fine dice granny smith apples
    as good and easy as it gets!
    add some pecan pieces for some texture
    fart the night away!
