cut into pieces, put on a big circle hook and let soak in P4 for several hours.

Mom’s favorite solution to any fish, skin’m/scale’m roll it in flour and fry in a hot Crisco bath. Be careful of bullheads in the warm water season, they can have worms in the meat jerr

And bring some shore lunch in case the fish are not biting, at least you can eat the bait!

Soak them in Buttermilk for overnight or 4-5 hours in refrig. This will draw blood from meat. Bread with your favorite breading & fry!

    Worms? Added protein!

Only thing I could add to Jerry’s post is “flour, salt and pepper”.

    Easy and awesomely good.

After soaking them (I just used regular milk. It worked fine.) I have done two things. 1) run them through a meat grinder, mix with crackers & eggs, and seasoning to your taste, then either make patties and cook something better than any fast food fish for sandwiches, or make fish balls, a little bigger than golf balls, and deep fry. You won’t regret either one of these recipes. Or 2) cut the fish into one inch chunks, roll them in your favorite breaking, and make bullhead (or catfish) nuggets. I first tasted these at a casino in Iowa. I tried them at home and everyone loved them. We grew up on fried bullheads and the occasional panfish, walleye, & northern we caught out near Mountain Lake & Windom. You are missing out if you haven’t tried bullhead, when it has been handled & cooked right.
