As my buddy and I gear up for another “Sheds and Feathers” weekend one thing I never forget are the Grouse fixings!! 1 bottle of your favorite marinade, mushrooms, peppers and onions. Grab some skewers and the small charcoal grill. Each grouse (assuming we find any) will be breasted out and cut into pieces and immediately thrown in the marinade. Onion chunks, peppers and onions accompany the best tasting gamebird known to man.

“Grouse on the barbie” on a cool evening Pre-Rifle Camp washed down with an “October Fest”……..PRICELESS!!

    Chris,

Do you use the thigh meat as well? Just as good as the breast meat.

    LOL! Sounds funny, BUT……

I found a Moose Shed antler this weekend (RH side). On a seperate find I located a Wolf Kill site (MINUS ONE MORE MOOSE) in which looked to be at least a year ago. I found scattered bones and was able to salvage a complete intact Moose Femur Bone. I joked with my buddy that we could make Moose Soup though neither one of us figured we had a big enough pot to boil it up!!

BTW shot 4 grouse today and yes “GROUSE ON THE BARBIE”

    GREAT WEEKEND in the Northwoods!!
