    A bowl of Spicy Lentil Soup and Salmon Cakes from Zatarains on Marble Rye with a slice of melted cheddar and a slice of tomato. Topped with some shrimp sauce.

    I have already put the recipe up for the soup another day here.

    Len’s Meatloaf

    2 pounds ground beef
    1 pound ground pork
    3 eggs
    one package of unsalted crackers crumbled up
    10 ounce can Rotel hot diced tomatoes with habaneros
    teaspoon celery flakes
    one large diced yellow onion
    1 tablespoon garlic powder
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon pepper

    Cook at 375 for 45 minutes
    Then cover top with ketchup and cook another 15 minutes.

    It is covered in my refrigerator currently.

    I will put it in the oven at halftime of the Packer Game.

    A photo will be taken when hot out of the over “later”

    Chicken Soup Strozzapreti

    2 pounds of Cubed Browned Chicken Breast.
    Dash Black Pepper
    Dash Basil
    1 1/2 teaspoon powdered Garlic
    2 small Yellow Onions diced
    1 1/2 teaspoon Celery Flakes
    1/2 cup shaved Carrots
    1 quart Chicken Broth
    Can Hunt’s Diced Tomatoes with Fennel & Red Pepper
    12 ounces Strozzapreti Pasta

    5/6 pound pork shoulder or butt roast
    1 1/2 teaspoons salt
    1 teaspoon sweet Hungarian paprika
    1 teaspoon celery flakes
    2 teaspoons dried onion flakes
    1/2 teaspoon dried basil
    2 teaspoons caraways seeds
    1 teaspoon ground black pepper
    1teaspoon garlic powder
    2 onions, coarsely chopped
    1 cup flaked carrots
    2 cups light beer

    Score your roast. Rub with oil and massage in spices.
    Let sit in refrigerator for 4 hours.

    Finished photo on plate tomorrow night.

    Directions

    Place in crock pot on low
    surround with onions. Pour beer into pan, and cover.
    add additional liquid if pan runs dry. Roast until internal temperature reaches 180 degrees, approximately 9 hours.

    Knödel…side dish for Schweinebraten

    6 medium potatoes, peeled, boiled, and cooled

    1/2 Cup flour

    1 1/2 Tsp. Salt

    …………………………………

    1 teaspoon dried chives

    1 teaspoon celery flakes

    1 cup chicken broth

    Place chives/celery flakes in broth half an hour before mixing together with potatoes

    Directions:

    1 .Grate the potatoes fine, or put them through a ricer.

    2 . mix well together.

    3 . Roll this dough into 1-inch balls, and drop them into boiling water.

    4 . Gently boil them for 10 minutes.

    5 . Lift them out with a slotted spoon and put them into a warmed serving bowl; keep them warm while making crumb topping or gravy.
