Anyone planning on fishing xmas day? Never really worked before(wife would’ve flipped) but this year with some family actually working that day looks like might be able to sneak out in the afternoon. Thinking could be a fun new tradition taking the little guy out Christmas evening. anyone have a similar tradition going?

This will be the first xmas I will not be able to fish. Going out tomorrow and Monday. Leaving town for family xmas reason I will not get out in the morning xmas day.

    Good luck

It’s not really a tradition, but, the day before Christmas Eve is the day we do some scouting for the spot to put the hard house. Then Christmas Eve day, we set up the house, and spend all day fishing.

My tradition is to leave the day after x-mas and hit Upper Red for a few days, then go down to Leech and Winnie for perch and evening bites on walleye, then to finish up I run to Mille Lacs for a few. It turns out to be a really fun trip.

My family will not be at my house until 3 PM so I plan to go out in the morning. My wife likes me to stay out of her hair when she is preparing stuff. Works for me.

Wow! Now that sounds like an awesome trip, would be interesting the different level of success you have at each lake.
Myself…am hoping to get out on Mille Lacs day after Christmas Monday. I guess it’ll depend on what Santa brings weather wise on Christmas day. Might get lumps of coal falling from the sky! cry

I will report action lake by lake as the trip progresses. I have an artic cat with a one man shack so I go very mobile.
