FISHING RIVER GRASS AND OTHER SHALOW WATER VEGETATION FOR SMALLMOUTH BASS AND TR

I use spinner baits and have had some success for the smallies but I am not consistant and the weeds kinda drive me nuts. I like to float fish and drift down the river and cast the holes but much of the river has bass and trout in shallow water. What suggestions do y0u guys have to up my tactics on this scenario. This is more of a small river situation than the mississippior or wisconsin river . thanks for the discussion folks.

I like throwing tubes, lipless crankbaits and jigheads with paddletail swimbaits on them. Just make sure you are making contact with the bottom or structure in the area and try to find the current seams or current breaks behind laydowns or rocks.
