Looking for help with locations and techniques for walleye and/or crappie fishing on Ossawinnamakee Lake. I have never fished this lake or any of the small lakes in this area. This trip will be interesting since our only fishing vessel is the pontoon we rented. I have no idea what electronics will be available to locate fish or depths.

Any help on locations or techniques on this lake will be greatly appreciated!!

    Thanks in advance.

Great question. I too am interested in this.

Just south of that lake is Pelican, where I mostly fish. If you can arrange something to fish that at night or early morning/late evening, chances are good to pick up a few eyes. Lindy and Spinners, leech or crawler.

Are you taking 371 up? Stop at S&W bait just south of Nisswa; they are a wealth of knowledge, and should be able to point you in the right direction. Good luck up there.

I’ve fished it once, so can’t give you much help. It’s quite clear, deep weeds, steep shoreline breaks. I did see some bluegills but didn’t target them. I suppose I’d try some weedlines, specifically looking for cabbage.

A & W does root beer. S & W sells bait. jester just messing with you. We use to fish that lake nearly 40 years ago. To much beer at the time and since than to remember what and where we were. I do recall we enjoyed the lake and I’m sure that hasn’t changed to this day.

    Have fun!

I mentioned this on another post. In most smaller lakes walleye will relate to weeds all year long. especially clear lakes. Not saying spinners and cranks won’t work because they all do at some point. But semi weedless search baits are the ticket for me. The new 360 GT swim bait and a good old BFT Moxie or Ringworm on a weedless Draggin’ Jig. Yeah, you may get into the bass, but hey! Who cares? Something is tugging back! I have covered Bass Tournaments on Minnewaska and Mille Lacs this year and they have been catching many walleye in the weeds looking for bass. Give it a try!
