Fishing La Crosse area License requirements?

I will bee in La Crosse on Saturday and Sunday, wondering what the fishing license requirements are. We are staying at the American Inn and plan on putting in just south of there for the day. Do I have to run down river to the Worlds Largest Six Pack area and then start there since that’s where the state lines come together on the main channel of the river or can we start anywhere around La Crosse since its boarder waters?

You should be able to fish almost to the lock and dam 9.

You can fish anywhere between the train tracks that border both sides of the river with either states license. Walleye and crappie fishing should be great.

With the high water may have a problem finding a place to put the boat in.
