Fishing for bows and Browns through ice

  • #1485533

Hey there! Just moved out to Montana last spring. Since I grew up in MN. I’m a huge ice fisherman and hit the hard water just about everyday after work or on days off. It’s mainly trout around my area lakers included. Any tips on fishing for brown greyling Browns And Brookies through the ice??

i live in utah and thats our main species as well i love using the VMC tingler tipped with chub meat, night crawler, wax worm or butter worm. also little baits like the VMC larvae jig and the wax tail jig are great. i fish one rod dead stick and one in my hand. and do great both ways. my new favorite bait is the rippin rap by rapala. i tip the front hook with one wax worm and they kill it. if you ever want or need any other info feel free to PM me.

Ahh! Perfect! I also just watched an Ely MN episode of James using that VMC Tinglr red and pink colored one. Sounds like that’s the ticket:) in heading out tomorrow for my first MT ice fishing experience. Thanks for the info! I’ll be sure to PM Ya with any other questions. Thanks!
