Looking to buy a new Fishfinder/chartplotter. Its going on 21′ Starcraft aluminum boat. Fish mainly for catfish & stripers in tidal water which has heavy current. Need peoples thoughts pros/cons on units. My other boat has a Lowrance X17 which is older unit which always worked great. But units have changed so much since I have purchased that unit. Any help would be great!

Same waters & fish ? Use the same same sonar units. Type & price.

For ease of use and quality I’d suggest buying a garmin 93sv. Simple to use and learn as well as pretty good mapping at a easy cost

Actually if you are near the coast the 94sv is the garmin you’d want

Look in to the garmin and see if the 73/93 , or 74/94 series works best for your area. The 3s are inland lakes and the 4s have costal options I believe. The garmins are very user friendly.
