Does anybody else use this app?

I’ve used the free version for several years and have posted a few fish on there, but I mostly find it useful for the mapping and catch data. I also enjoy (but certainly don’t run my life) by their Bite Time predictions (and also giving some thought to their predicted hot spots, which I have determined mostly correspond to wherever the hot shore spots are.)

According to the app, I have a 94% chance of catching crappie starting at 9PM on my lake. I’m suddenly very tempted to bundle up, trudge through some slush, and see if this is true. I’ve never seen a bite time prediction anywhere CLOSE to 94% success.

It’s not always correct, but I will say that for summer bass fishing their bite time windows do often correspond to when I’m picking up the most fish.

edit: actually, I think ended up paying for 1 year of the pro version to get the bite time predictions last spring and some other features. now i need to decide if it is worth another year. For those not on the app, their predictions are by-species and by-lake using an ever growing amount of real time user data so it is pretty cool.

I do not use it nor have I looked at it. I assume the hot spots would be your normal ideal spots to look if you were to pick apart a lake.
When you say posting fish do you mean like hey I’m on blah blah lake and crappies are biting or do you actually get to post pics on a fish photo wall?
I would be interested to hear I’d the time chart is correct or not, but again I feel it’s probably going with pretty basic knowledge stuff. I won’t knock it before I rock it lol. But report back

A big part of the app is a social media feed, think of it as Instagram for fishermen.

Some post every fish they catch, I’ve just posted a few special/big one now and then and am mainly there for the mapping and data.

edit: i’m not a fan of the social media aspect, but all of that data is in fact what makes the app so valuable. Millions upon millions of people all over the country posting exact details of their catch with GPS coords (opt-in), real time weather data, water temps, lures used, species data, etc. For this reason many people think the app is the devil, but I find all of the data quite amazing and helpful (especially when travelling.)

Actually the hot spots are based on historical user data + prediction AI but at least on my lakes, I’ve found they almost always correspond to piers, easy access shoreline, bridges, and other areas where shore fisherman congregate. I figure there are more of them on those spots posting more pics, and thus the prediction AI assumes it is a hot spot.

All the things you just mentioned is why I won’t ever use it. I cannot understand why you go catch fish and immediately give your spot to the public, I can not think of a dumber thing to do. Next time you go to that spot 400 people are there.
I’ve watched Facebook and dumbasses just absolutely destroy little unknown lakes because people can’t keep their mouths shut. As they say in shark tank, and for that reason I’m out

I had a buddy who really liked that app. I wasn’t a fan when I took a look at it a while ago, mostly because it tagged a couple photos for fish at my cabin that clearly weren’t from the lake, with species that it doesn’t have. Seems like they’ve corrected that now, but I view it as more of a marketing gimmick than an actually useful app.

I looked at it and its basically for kids who want to post pics of their fish. I can’t imagine there are grown men who use it but?

Pretty much 12-20-year-old boys posting fish lol.
