A quick report from Brainerd Lakes area.

Sunday, I chipped a hole in the ice in front of my house, it was 3 inches. Small, 188 acre long narrow lake.

Large lakes still had open water yesterday, as I drove past.

With the forecast for this week, we have a good chance of 4 inches of ice after Thanksgiving on some bodies of water.

Be safe, Black Friday could be fish Friday

Unfortunately?? Just like past years, Red is the first to have it going. Go now if you can! FB pics from the last couple days…

I’ll be there Friday and Saturday. My first trip to Red. Can’t wait. Hoping the rain on Friday’s forecast won’t ruin it.

I’ll be up there the same days, cant wait! Looks like rain real early, then 40 and real windy the rest of the day. Certainly not ideal, but theres been worse. Don’t forget your ice cleats!

Ha i should clarify, the only reason i say unfortunately is because i am not a fan of crowds or lots of people. The fishing im sure will be fairly decent

Sure, nobody likes the crowds but sometimes you just gotta go where and when the “gettins good”!
