I am going to try some Crappie on our Traeger tonight….
I have cooked them on a gas grill and in the oven a couple times..and of course always get the fry daddy out and fry some with Fry Magic
    But just wondering…..
Any ideas for cooking them on the Traeger ?
In a pan like in the oven
Lay them right on the grates
Alum foil pan to hold a few and season them up ?
Any recipes you fellows like ?

    Thanks

Cast iron skillet. Pre heat pan with butter. Think I did around 300. Season with some lemon pepper or Cajun Blacking seasoning and fry in pan like you would on the stove. Just not as fast as doing it on the stovetop. Takes in some of the smoke flavor to.

Thanks for the suggestion. Sounds good.
I cooked fish ( Crappie) 3 different ways tonight.
1st…In casserole dish: olive oil, garlic herb seasoning, parmesan cheese, little spray butter on top.
    Fantastic !!
2nd….just fry magic on damp fish placed right on grates.
Pretty good !! Wife’s favorite way.
3rd…. fried in fry daddy with fry magic, the way I always do it.
    It was ok.
I don’t know if I will be Frying fish much any longer. It was so good the other ways. Not a lot of smoke flavor but, just different than the oven. But it was so easy, fish didn’t stick to the grates and it was done in 20 minutes at 350*
    Fantastic on the traeger !!

Throw a few strips of bacon on Treager when you fire it up. Slow cook and top off with brown sugar and honey after the first flip. Makes a good little snack as yur doing the rest of meal.
