    What species?

Crushed a 1oz 9/0 jig with twister tail and cut bait drift jigging for flatheads.

Can’t see it well due to low resolution but maybe a Mooneye?

If it’s not a lake trout or a sturgeon, I’m out. waytogo

Looks like a quill back or buffalo.

Forgetting the best part of its name, CARPSUCKER! Don’t know why that’s cool to me but Quillback carpsucker always sounded cool.

Better question is how did it perform as cutbait! devil

I caught a few carpsuckers a couple years ago and cut them up for trapping bait and was amazed at how white the meat was and want to try and eat them like sucker but haven’t caught on since.

My guess was going to be quillback with that spiked dorsal. So many variations of carps/suckers I wanted to ask.

Already had a good choice of cut, so quill released.
