Menards has JELD-WEN at a reasonable price. Vinyl is the way to go.

I have built over 20 fish houses
By far the best windows are the jeld wen vinyl windows. Get them with the j channel built in and cut off the nailing flange the j-channel flange laps the window opening and your window only sticks out 1/4″ .menards stocks these in white I think a 24×32 window cost under$100.00 can order different colors but takes 3 to 4 weeks

Would you recommend this for say a hunting cabin??? 2×4 with 1/2″ insulated foam sheathing and T111 plywood siding. Or should I just use the nailing flange? Thanks

My professional opinion is to always use a nailing fin when you have the opportunity. Some retrofits will require the fin to be cut off.
When the fin is cut off you only have a bead of caulk between you and a leak.
