Hoping for some suggestions. I picked up an older fish house that needed the carpet replaced. I’m not interested in using vinyl or rubber flooring, just new carpet. I’m either thinking of using a needle punch automarine carpet or indoor/outdoor carpet squares. Do tell if you can think of a better carpet alternative.
Between the plywood floor and old carpet is a layer of 1/4″ Dow Bluecor extruded polystyrene. I was told I needed to remove the polystyrene and lay/glue the carpet right over the plywood floor. There is no insulation on the underside of the plywood floor, so I don’t want to lose any little r-value I have Plus, I think the polystyrene has done a good job protecting the plywood floor.
It’s a 16′ fish house with an Atwood 7916-II 16k btu heater if that helps. Thanks in advance!
