Trying to come up with something more interesting than a fish sandwich with left overs from a fish fry. What do you guys do with leftover fried fillets?

Peel the breading off if you can make fish taco’s.

Usually fish tacos or throw some pieces in a frying pan with eggs and potatoes the next morning and make a scramble/hash

We bake them in the oven until crisp, as good as the first night and the baking gets the oil out of them. Bake on a cookie sheet with cooling rack.

    Leave the breading on!

Pizza oven to crispen it back up, taco sauce, sour cream, cheese, tomato and you got yourself one heck of a fish taco.

oven crisp at 250, I always make extra because the oven reheat works so well.

    Same here.

I always make extra since I’m going through the mess of making it (I cook them outside on a turkey burner and dutch oven).

I Ziploc the extras and freeze them in quart bags. They stay good for a month or two, and are a super fast and easy meal for the kids after work.

6 minutes in the air fryer @ 400 with the beer batter still on. Just as crispy as the day of the fish fry.

Hot sandwiches or tacos, generally. Tried a tinfoil-wrapped burrito a few times with seasoned rice, black beans, corn salsa, cheese, and sour cream. Those were pretty good.

This year I used the standard chicken Caesar wrap recipe with some day-old deep-fried sunfish and it was very good. Romaine lettuce, tomato, croutons, shredded parmesan, Newman’s Own Creamy Caesar (the best), and some sunnies crisped up in the convection oven, all tossed in a bowl and wrapped in a large sun-dried tomato tortilla. I will be doing this again.

I eat my left overs with my favorite wing sauce and rice.

    All these taco ideas!
Sounds great for the stuffins but what are you using for the shell?
Just the store bought hard or soft shells?

Here is something that I do every once in a while instead of making tacos.

Heat the oven to 275. Spread your leftover fillets in a glass baking pan. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake for 10-15 minutes until reheated and crispy. Wipe the excess oil out of the dish with a paper towel. Spoon your favorite marinara sauce over the fish. Top with mozzarella cheese. Put it back in the oven until the cheese is melted and just starting to get brown spots.

    Serve over angel hair pasta.
