My brother has 1 st generation helix 9.
Looking at new units. Will he be able to transfer waypoints to new unit??? How about if he goes with another brand? He’s up in Alaska and has lots of waypoints stored for traveling and where he’s had success on halibut and salmon. Thanks for the help. Doug
As long as he downloads the the waypoints to an additional card you can transfer to whatever unit you want.

It isn’t always as easy as he made it sound. Going to a different brand you will need to covert the waypoints to the format that is recognized by the new unit. There are several programs that are free to do that. Just make sure he saves waypoints, tracks and transfers them to a computer.
I guess what I meant as long as you download them to an sd card there should be a way to transfer the waypoints to other units. I have not done bird to bird but Lowrance to Garmin was pretty simple.
