buckybadger Upper MidwestPosts: 8395 March 20, 2022 at 1:32 pm #2109234 …the first one is stuck in Lake Pepin. Ironically it’s exact in the stretch where the corps measured their thickest ice on Wednesday of this week. Someone screwed up.
buckybadger Upper MidwestPosts: 8395 March 20, 2022 at 1:33 pm #2109235 It was there for hours already when we saw it Attachments:FA762664-A1DA-46D9-BC56-78CBCB983843.jpeg

Ron F Rochester MNPosts: 71 March 20, 2022 at 3:33 pm #2109251 According to http://www.marinetraffic.com the first tow is still stuck in Pepin. The second tow has stopped just south of Reeds Landing. A third tow is below Wabasha heading North to join the fun.
Ron F Rochester MNPosts: 71 March 20, 2022 at 7:27 pm #2109308 Now and then it appears to make a little headway. It’s currently just above Maple Springs. I bet it’s burning through a lot of fuel! The other two look like they are waiting just below Reads Landing.

Brian KlawitterKeymaster Minnesota/Wisconsin Mississippi RiverPosts: 59996 March 21, 2022 at 7:55 am #2109382 As of 7:52 on Monday March 21, the W.Red Harris is still not moving much. With last nights 50 degree temps and the water rising to 4.02 in Red Wing, I’m going to bet a quarter we’ll see her in Red Wing today.
Brian KlawitterKeymaster Minnesota/Wisconsin Mississippi RiverPosts: 59996 March 21, 2022 at 8:32 am #2109394 She’s on the move again at 2.3 kn!

Ron F Rochester MNPosts: 71 March 21, 2022 at 9:38 am #2109414 A second tow from the South passed it and is now leading the way. The Aubrey B. Harwell is doing 6 kn so it’s not having much trouble at all.
