First time going over the boarder

My girlfriend and I have fished the us side many times with some great results. This year we have purchased Canadian lisense and all the other cards.
So my question is were do you go in at? Do you go north of 8 mile or cranberry. We are going up mid June. And looking for sir Walter.take that back miss whalter!
Lookin for a safe area. I do have rainy lake low plus chip. But does that read on the canada side? What’s the way to go cast max raps or pitch jigs . Live bait what is or options? It’s gonna be a adventure any help is always greatly appreciated.

No minnows and there are regs on crawlers. I forget specifics but it’s about how they are packed and you must show proof of purchase.
