First lure of the season

What’s the first lure you’re casting out on the opener next weekend? I’m going to fire out a classic red and white daredevil for sentimental reasons. the little guy grabbed a fire tiger husky jerk last night at hardware hank. Can’t wait to get a northern pulling drag out or the random walleye where we’re going

Trolling husky or original rap at 12:01.
I go with the pretty one my daughters pick out to start the night.

Perch jerk bait

Gold jig and a frozen shiner….what else is there on LOTW?

Perch husky jerk if trolling. Gold metallic fireball jig if not.

1/16oz jig and a Spottail shinner.

I’ll probably start with a Rage Swimmer or a perch Rippin Rap. I will start for walleye from shore.

Either a bone colored KVD jerkbait or a Texas rigged Strike King Rage Bug, black and blue.

I can tell you the first lure I’ve lost this year was a husky jerk 12 in chrome on superior today! lead core run it into a rock.

Another vote for a husky jerk if we make it out at midnight. Otherwise 1 guy with a jig/plastic and one with a jig/minnow.

Rapala shadow rap. About the only lure I fish on opening weekend. May fish it for the first week or so, then it goes away till the fall.

Might also use a jerkbait that water is chilly!

Lighted slip bobber at 1201am. I know it’s not a lure but the technique that works best for me on opener.

i know i wont be using my wifes favorite rapala. i lose that i may as well go live amoungst the critters!!!! its an orange with black spotted fat wrap.

i’ll probably start the year out with a perch colored rapala!!!!!!!

If we find the fish a little deeper, it’ll be a leech on a lindy rig. If not, will try a perch shadow rap shallow. Followed up by pitching a swimbait or a black marabou jig.
