Here are mine. This is on a small lake north of Mille lacs. Good 4″ or more of ice that was nice and clear as you can see in the one photo. I would not expect to find this on most other lakes in the area. This is just a small pothole that is shallow and wind protected.

First two pike hit as I was dropping the sucker minnows down the hole. Nice afternoon of tending a fire, listening to the vikes and chasing flags.

That big pike went a very fat 36″s. He was released for us to enjoy again later on .

Ive been seeing lots of ice fishing reports from red lake mn. Think around Aitkin (central MN) It might take a small pond like I was on to find decent ice. Of course with many days this week for that area not even getting above freezing that should make some more ice.

Managed to get onto some small higher elevation lakes to do some brook trout fishing.

Was slow, but drinking beer and listening to the game and watching flags made for a pleasant Sunday afternoon.

I spent some time on the ice Sunday after checking a half dozen early ice spots Fri and sat before finding enough ice to be comfortable with. Fishing was decent for the first day on the ice but the size was not like it has been in years past.

Thanks, yeah it was a pretty decent fish for where we were at. First time we had fished that lake also so got lucky the fish were where we hoped.
