First Ice

It won’t be long until we have fishable ice up here! It has been bitterly cold with low winds, perfect for making ice! I hope to do some ice scouting next week. Post your ice reports!

Are there a lot of wheel houses out there during the ice season. I want to take my grandpa up there and he cant do the portable stuff any longer..

There are a lot of wheel houses out there come mid January. There are certain areas that get plowed once the snow is deep that lead to pretty good spots. The area around woodland resort gets plowed and you can get to perch and walleye spots.

I fished devils last thursday. Had about 6″ of ice just west of grahams. Fished on the outside of the trees in about 15ft, picked up a few walleyes right at dark. Other than that everything was pretty finicky.
