I like to see that, but I am going to lose a lot of suspected shooters once the velvet comes off. They will look considerably smaller.

Agreed, I know it’s going to happen but every year I still get caught off guard by how much smaller they are with velvet off.

Checked mine on the 20th, all in velvet, I mite check them again next Monday, typically seems like the last week of August they start popping up velvet-free but then there are always a few still with velvet (almost always 1 y.o. deer it seems) around bow opener in mod September too.

How often do you guys check your cameras? I’ve always gone out every couple weeks but I worry sometimes that this is too much traffic. Once bow season starts I just swap cards while I’m on my way to or from the stands.

I pulled the cards at the farm every Saturday morning on the way back from stand. At home I pull them every Sunday afternoon.

3-4 weeks. During the season I check leaving the stand.
