Heading up for the day on Sunday and can’t decide whether I want to stay on the first break or try and head out to the flat if the ice allows it. I figure both will most likely produce.

Lots of big blue cracks out in the middle on yesterday’s satellite pic, can’t imagine it’s gonna get better by Sunday with the forecast.

I don’t think you can go wrong either way but I would only head to the flats using a resorts staked road.

Thank you Will. Might take a page out of you and James’ book from the last episode.

Well, hit the pond from 7am to 8pm yesterday and started on the first break on the north side. Got shutout from 7-1. Moved over to the west sided of the lake and walked out to the nearest mud flat. Still skunked until prime time and BOOM. Fish after fish for an hour. Drop the spoon with a minnow head down and five seconds later you’d have a giant red mark flying up at your lure and darn near taking the rod out of your hand. Deadstick was working as well. An hour later as quick as it turned on, it shut off. Made the trip worth it as usual.

Man, sounds like a hoot! Can’t wait to get on the ice.
