I’m heading over to WI this weekend to finally get out and target some bass. I’ve got some starters tied on already. Texas rig with a rage bug for shallow pitching. Squarebill crank, chatterbait, finesse jig, lipless crank, neko rig, and ned rig. Any other lures you guys will have tied on?

You can throw most of that stuff in the drawer. Tie on a Blue and Chrome Manns Baby 1 minus.

Been 80% jerkbaits so far… the rest Mini Chatterbait, small Spinnerbaits, etc. Don’t know if plastics will work until after the full moon and they start going to bed but we’ll see… let us know how you do waytogo

Where ya headed mahto? I’m spending the weekend in Sawyer county on a lake known for its bass but targeting walleye. Never really targeted smallies before but catch plenty on accident. May end up changing my focus if I cant find the walleyes.

Fry dog- they’re not up on beds yet? Think more rocks vs. sand? Super shallow?

I’ve caught a lot of prespawners with plastics on shoreline cover (when we’ve been lucky enough to be able to fish for prespawners). Especially when the sun is warming up the shallows. I forgot to mention a jerkbait. Always have one tied on this time of year.

Tbro, haven’t decided where I’m going yet. Need to choose wisely as it’s the fishing opener in cheeseland this weekend and I don’t want to be where everyone else is.

Pink X-Rap if there’s smallies around.

Only thing that got decent bites was the chatterbait on points with some vegetation on them. Then once the sun got remotely high and the bluebird skies came out the whole lake shut off. Caught a few dinks off docks also. Caught a good number of bass but the size was mostly 2-3 lbers. Still nice to get out and feel the rod stop when you set the hook. Look forward to being able to stay a little closer to home this weekend.

I was north about an hour and a half from the cities and water temps were still low to mid 50s so not many fish up shallow. Still fun to set the hook on a few.

Tight lines are always good – glad you found them. Went to Eau Galle myself this time last year. I found fish were shallow, but plastics didn’t work – metal like chatterbaits and spinners did.
