Fire extinguishers

A while ago someone posted that Kidde fire extinguishers had a recall. I finally got around to checking with Kidde to see if any of my extinguishers were being recalled…..checked their recall site and eventually ended up calling them. Seems that my 2 in house extinguishers and my smaller boat extinguisher are all being recalled. They are sending out replacements – I am to put the bad ones in the boxes and they have a call tag inside for the return. Sent an email to a friend – he has to replace his also.

I’ve had one replaced and waiting on two more for the boats.

I didn’t call. Just used the web form at the Kidde website.

Plastic handle fire extinguishers: The recall involves 134 models of Kidde fire extinguishers manufactured between January 1, 1973 and August 15, 2017, including models that were previously recalled in March 2009 and February 2015

Just follow this link, go to the bottom of the page and click on one of the three options that fits your PLASTIC handled Kidde product. Enter in the model and date of manufacture and then read the message carefully. It will say if yours is in the recall…and most are. Enter in your mailing ad and your done until it arrives.

Thanks for the reminder,just checked mine and 2 out of the 4 were part of the recall.
