Finally got a look!

Finally got to see the MX 2040 and WX 2060. I am still digesting my day yesterday. But was very impressed with fit and finish on both boats. I like both interior layouts, they are different, now to decide which fits my fishing style best. One thing that does concern me is, I am being told that there is no discount for tiller kicker vs remote kicker, my thinking is $800 give or take. I am also being told that I can not delete the ss rails, that the boat has to come in with them installed then taken off and fiberglass repaired. I want tracks, not rails. The other thing is troll motor shaft length, 60″ is it. Looking at both boats, you may get away with a 60″ on the 2040, but you will need one on the 2060. I am not asking to go to a different TM brand or model, just a longer shaft. I completely understand the whole package boat thing, but not being able to accomadate a few small changes may be a deal buster for me. My dealer I am talking to is brand new to Skeeter, maybe they don’t know thier way around Skeeter yet? What are you guys seeing out there?

Can you just remove the rails and lay the tracks right over the holes? I would call Dean at Skeeter Boat Center in Ramsey (763) 450-0400. He can certainly fill you in on your options.

You might want to talk to a different dealer.
As shocking as it sounds, sometimes salesmen lie and or don’t really know their products.

I bought my MX 1825 from Justin at Skeeter Boat Center, and he was both knowledgeable and willing to sell a boat to me with or without any option I wanted.
That was in 2014, so some things may have changed on boat packages.

Trust me I plan on it. Being in central Ohio, I don’t have any experienced dealers that want to sell anything but Bass boats. I like the guy I am talking to, and I still haven’t been for a ride yet. They are a brand new Skeeter dealership, and they may be learning they way around. I can’t be the only guy out there that wants it a little different. I am just trying to get the most bang for MY buck.

I think that was before the who package boat thing they are doing. I think that is new this year.

I can however attest to speaking with Skeeter Boat Center. I had a very good experience with them buying a used boat. I’d be willing to bet they would help the OP out the best they could.

    Hi Phil,
Justin or myself would be happy to assist. I don’t see anything on your list that we haven’t worked with before. I as well, can attest to the learning curve of option management for the market place vs what the manufacture’s actually offer.

I ran a wx2060 last year. I have a 60″ terrova. Never had a problem with it coming out of the water. Trolled in 4 footers with no problems.

Dean, thanks for the reply. I need to relax a little and not get my panties in such a wad…lol My wife has figured out my game, and held me off long enough, that I have started to book trips for the spring and can’t afford to be waiting on a boat to come. So, I am looking at maybe July or so, before doing anything now. I will definitely give you a call when I get serious.

Ryan, thanks for the reply. That is good to hear, and I will keep it in mind. Are you running the 2060 this year?

Does anyone have a picture of the WX2060 with the bubble windshields instead of the walkthrough windshield? I like the looks of the 2190 with the bubble windshields, but have not seen a 2060 with them.

Phil, I am running the same boat this year. I will be down in Port Clinton first week of May if you want to go for a ride. If you haven’t picked up your dream rig yet!

Just a note about SBC, I talked with Justin about the WX line, he and the whole team are a bunch of good guys.
I purchased my Skeeter from Anchor Marine in Appleton WI. I have had a great experience with them. Hands down a great dealer. The reason I went with Anchor was they were 30 mins from my house and SBC was 200 minutes. You can talk with either shop and they wont let you down. Even if you have a simple question. Good Luck on picking out your new rig!! Buying a new rig is a
    GREAT time!

    Ryan,
I would love a ride in your rig. Just curious, do you have the setback plate for the 250? Also, is your 250 the offshore model? Are coming to fish a tournament or just fishing? Hopefully I will have them all rounded up by then. I have a brand new dealer 10 min from house in central Ohio and a brand new dealer 25 minutes from our cottage in Huron, Ohio. The guys up north have brought in deep vee boats and have been Yamaha motors for a long time. The guys in central Ohio just wanna sell bass boats.

I am coming down to just fish for a few days. I have the 250 offshore. Love the digital throttle! Couldn’t put a set back plate on. It would void the hull warranty at the time I purchased.
