Maybe it’s the liquor talking but as I sit outside grilling some steaks and throwing back a few beers my soul feels at peace. I can’t think of many better things than a calm, quiet winter night in Minnesota

Almost like Wisconsin deer deer opener!
All though I’ll take it, house and shop lp tanks are still over 55%. Don’t get me wrong I like a good cold snowy winter, but this year I’ll take this!

It has not gone unnoticed to me that December was much more affordable than the past few years propane-wise.

I’m ready for some solid ice on the lakes, and some snow for the kids to play in. I’m also really glad we are in mid-January before it’s happening, that means spring is only 5-6 months away! rotflol jester rotflol

It will be a short disturbing winter. Terrible in my opinion as I wouldn’t live here if I didn’t love winter weather and snow.

Sorry ice fisherman, but not sorry. I’m going out to burn some tires right now and try to kick that global warming thing back into high gear. Before this week I hadn’t even bothered to find my hat and gloves or worn my coat at all. I wonder if they still sell aquanet?

I do a fair amount of ice fishing. That said, I’m just fine with the winter we are having so far. I’d also be happy if it stayed that way till spring. It does look like a return to a more normal looking Minnesota Winter soon. Starting Sat. it looks like a rather long run of nightly temps below 0. That will make some ice rather quickly. Best part is almost no snow in sight. maybe we will have good ice this season after all

It’s been awesome. Haven’t seen any other around this season.
Last Saturday we had 3 other guys on the lake we were on. We did pretty damn good and no one else was near.

Ya its been really crazy how few people are out. I fished Osakis last weekend. Normally by this time you could walk across the rooftops of all the wheeled houses and get from one side of the lake to the other. Last weekend there was maybe 20 people and a few portable houses on the ice. The lack of fishing pressure had the fish biting real well. I’m sure that will change soon out there.

Your crazy BC don’t you know the ice isn’t safe. grin
Love fishing when trucks can’t get on the ice yet. Soon as they can I start dreaming of being back in the boat.

Every time I see a lack of snow on the ground I think of the snowmobilers. Can’t be easy.

Best ice fishing year to be alone ever! I’ve been out 23 times this year, and other then when I was on Red December 4th, I haven’t seen more than 6 people out on the lakes with me. Often, it’s been no one. The peace and tranquility will end soon with colder temperatures forecasted.

Got enough snow to burn a little 2-stroke oil in the yard with boys the last couple days after school mrgreen

They had a blast getting whipped around in a little otter sled

I feel “kinda” bad intentionally dumping them at 15-20 mph….but they beg for it lol (and have helmets on)

Over the weekend we hit up a local lake fishing on the wheeler. Solid 6+” of ice and the fish cooperated!
