I have this one it’s not cheap but very good. Set the angle no possible user error and just replace belts when they get worn out! Won’t buy anything else and sharpens any knife tool scissors etc.
I’ve heard good things about that one posted too. I’ve got this (or one of their models anyway) and works on pretty much all my knives, but it you want a super sharp finish I still finish it off on a stone.
Check with some of you grocery meat departments, ours sharpens knives for free while we shop.
Learn to use electric and throw away the sharpener. I would never go back to plain knife for cleaning panfish.

Electric is nice in theory but not practical if you’re the type of person who does a lot of bwca fishing or remote camping and fishing. Even the battery operated ones wouldn’t cut it in the bwca – no pun intended.

I just don’t see the electric keeping up and doing 75 bluegills between three people using fillet knifes? I also think the electric or battery has to be messier?
I think we can get more of the fillet off a regular knife than an electric or battery? I’m old school with my fish.
I also take out the lateral line of bones on all my fish. It’s just the small strip on small bones right below the rib cage.

Thanks but that is not related to my post !
I’ve had one like this the past 20 years. Mine isn’t the same but similar. I got mine at Scheels but haven’t seen them in years.
My husband Billy has the Spyderco Knife Sharpener and he really likes it. He’s particular with his knives and likes them to be quite sharp. I’m not sure if he bought it at Cabelas or not – this was just one of the top links that showed up for a visual.
Can anyone tell me at what degree should you sharpen a fillet knife at?
Jeff, I have the one that’s listed on Amazon for $149.00.
It works but after using it for 5 years, I’m not impressed. At first I thought it was the FW’s cheap kitchen knives but I’ve used it on high end fillet knives and it does sharpen them…just not to the edge I expect.
Let me know and I can bring it down to the camper and you can do all of your knives…or take it with you and give it a shot.
Maybe I’m just sharpening the wrong edge…I dunno.

12 to 17 degrees
Believe it or not I still use the little red one that came with my Rapala Knife. No problems, run it across a couple times before and after I clean my fish.
This is the one I use. Gatco diamond hone. 19 degree and 22 degree takes care of most knives. https://www.sharpeningsupplies.com/GATCO-Ultimate-Diamond-Hone-Sharpening-System-P311.aspx?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI5_rhurao2AIVzbbACh0WUwBUEAYYAiABEgJEwPD_BwE
