Figuring Out a Tough Trout Bite

Everyone loves fishing/ice fishing when the bite is hot! It can be a different story when it’s a grind and the fish are being finicky!! Figuring out the bite is about patience and willing to try other techniques, rigs, presentations, etc…and it can be very rewarding if you find what the fish want!🎣

We encountered that today at a reservoir that was on fire a few weeks ago. A few fish were landed to start in 10-13 FOW, including a surprise Snake River Cutty PB through the ice; but mostly all of our marks on our electronics, would come up and swim away; no matter what we presented or how we jigged it. After spending the morning going from 3-13FOW and throwing almost everything we had at the fish…we decided to move deep, to 25-30FOW and found the bite to be very active. Within 10 minutes we marked more fish then the entire morning combined and got to cap the morning off with a lot of action!

Hope you guys enjoy the video! Always a great reward when you figure out where the fish are and what they want to eat!🎣🎣🎣
