This is one of the best ideas the mlb has had in a long time. I’m absolutely loving this. I’d love to go to next years game.

I live about 50 minutes from there and plan on going to look at it sometime before they pick the corn.
My bil lives about 8 minutes from there. He called and said the line of cars trying to get into Dyersville (where the game is being played) was 6 miles long outside of the town.
Dyersville is about 30 minutes west of Dubuque, population 4000.

Heard on the radio today that they expect to take the stands down within a week or so, so don’t wait too long,,,,

This game is a tremendous venue. Props to the MLB. Hopefully this is a yearly occurrence.

Manfred said it’s planned to be. Probably saved the original FOD set too. I can imagine with Covid not a lot of money was being brought in. About the only good thing Manfred has done since he’s been in charge.

If the pursuing outfielder flushes a rooster and the ball hits it, it counts for 3 runs. Hit a hen and your team loses.

I have family that lives a couple miles from FoD. I was getting pictures sent to me all night long. One relative was on top of the silo taking pics.
Pretty cool to see Dyersville getting all this attention. I got to see the FoD get built in 1988, so it’s always been a special place for us.
I know I’ll be first in line if the Twinkies get a crack at playing there.

Too bad ticket prices were so high (if you could buy one).
    375 or 425 face value.
most people had to pay 1400 and up on the secondary market!

Dyersville is my hometown. I just hope my small town doesn’t turn into some gentrified, gross version that has a bunch of big city pests moving in. That aside, it was a cool game.

With those ticket prices it never seizes to amaze me how so many of the people behind home plate had there heads buried in their phones half the game toast

I am not a baseball nut by any stretch, but I found myself entertained and watched the entire game. That was so cool. I missed the very beginning because I didnt realize it was on last night so I was bummed about that.

    DYERSVILLE, Iowa —
The Field of Dreams Game in Dyersville was the most-watched regular-season baseball game in 16 years according to reports Friday.

The game set in Dyersville turned out to be a win for the White Sox with a walk-off homer 9-8. But according to Major League Baseball and FOX Sports, it was the most-watched regular-season game since 2005 with about 5.9 million viewers.

In a news conference, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred said they would likely play another game at the Field of Dreams site in the future.

“We will be back,” Manfred said. “It’s pretty clear we’re going to be back next year.”

Field of Dreams star Kevin Costner chimed in, “It’s obvious every team is going to want to play here.”
