If one doesn’t get angry – then I don’t know what to say. And yes for sure there are plenty that appreciate and respect the land they are snowmobiling on. But you never see any of them sadly on these videos – that are viewed by millions.
Do you have a link to a specific video? I follow a couple mountain riders and see their videos, but typically don’t watch others. Out west there are a number of wilderness areas that are off limits to snowmobiles and from the sounds of it the authorities are pretty effective at finding the violators and throwing the book at them.
There are hundred of videos tearing up the landscape. Hats off to those riders that show respect .

Is this the destroying the land video ?
No. I saw this yesterday on FB and it struck an accord with me. I can show plenty more but it is all at your fingertips too.

I don’t try to dig in to things that would make me mad. Not healthy for a guy. I just wasn’t aware if this was real damage these guys were doing, it didn’t light me up like I thought your video would.
I will try to find the ones that really showed disrespect. And they are only a few bad apples – but definitely can ruin it all for the rest. I’ve seen that here in SE MN and landowners shutting their property down to trails.
Conditions in the northern 1/3 of the state have been steadily improving. Not a lot off trail but seeing some reports of really nice trails from basically Brainerd north.
Put some miles on the Pantera after plowing the driveway the other day.
The boys want me to pick them up from school on the snowmobile “from now on”
I spent 3 days last week riding the Black Hills of SD. The trails and the views where great once again. I have riden out there 3 times prior and have always had perfectly smooth trails as long as they have decent snow.
By this weekend the bulk of the northern half of MN will also have good conditions which will benefit the entire midwest and hopefully the dealers that are sitting on lots of inventory.
I don’t. its nice not having my ditches completely destroyed by those bozos.

Not sure where you live but in Wisconsin all ditches in the road easement can be rode because that property is owned by the public not the landowner usually 33′ from center line. There are a few landowners who believe they own it and but things in the easement to try to damage the snowmobiles and that is a big no no. If you have riders riding outside of the easement that is a lack of respect. Hopefully this new snow opens up a lot of new county’s!

Heading to cabin to ice fish Tuesday afternoon (Chamberlain) then on to Rec Springs on Thursday for the weekend. First time to the hills..

I don’t really know the regulations on riding ditches. I don’t mind people doing it respectfully to get from their home to the nearest trail.
We allow the local club to run a fairly main trail across our property. I smile when I hear those sleds ripping through hoping the people are enjoying themselves. I have told the club that we will pull our land the first sign of trespassing, which includes ditch riders running our field edges on the other side of the parcel. One issue = land access is gone regardless of whether or not it’s related to the trail. So far we’ve been fortunate and people have been respectful (on the whopping 3 weeks the trails have been open the last 3 years)
Well said Bucky! I very much appreciate the landowners that allow trails to cross their property and hope everyone stays on the trail.
Clowns that trespass with snowmobiles are probably the same idiots that trespass with atv’s. It ruins it for the everyone.
Here is a ordinance by a town to allow snowmobiles to ride the road in certain instances.

Big snow hits my home on a weekend and my sleds are at the cabin.
I just cant win.
i don’t REALLY have issues with these guys. I do own my ditch…a nice full snow, have at it. but when its an inch, these guys drive me absolutely insane.
Anybody see that video of the guy doing 180 MPH an a snowmobile?

Not sure if this is the vid he was talking about and they never really say how fast it went, but skip to the 22 minute mark. 500 feet in 3.45 seconds and likely well over 150 mph. Who knows how fast in a quarter but these things arent geared for that length and it would be dangerous as heck.

I’m with ya there. Nothing like spending $30k on finishing your driveway just to have it ripped up by sledheads with studded tracks. My favorite is when they crash into your mailbox and break the 4×4 mailbox post in half.
