Favorite Senko Colors

When bass fishing it’s hard to find a better lure than a weightless Texas or Wacky rigged Senko. What are everyone’s favorite colors? I like using 5 inch Senkos in Green Pumpkin Red Flake, Watermelon Red Flake, Green Pumpkin, Gooseberry Laminate and Purple Pearl Blue Flake.

Green Pumpkin is pretty good in clear water as a natural color.

I also like white with black specks and lime green with black specks. I’ve been using those on a lake with murky water for dock skipping the last couple years.

Black with blue flake is my all time go to. Dirty water, clear water doesn’t matter.

    Other favorites:

    -Watermelon/Chartreuse tip
    -Black with silver flake
    -Black with Chartreuse tip
    -Natural worm colors

To the OP, don’t be afraid to go with bigger worms. 7 and 8 inch worms have produced a lot for me and even 10 inch worms have caught MN bass for me. Not small ones either.

    Green over white (baby bass)
    Brown
    Brown with chart tip
    Green over pink (rainbow trout)
Orange with black and green flake
    Black
    Silver with black flake

Just a note that I’ve caught significantly bigger fish on the 4″ than the 5″. I feel like big fish get a little too used to the classic 5″. I still find myself throwing the 5″, though.

Watermelon red flake. I took a buddy out a couple years ago who doesn’t bass fish, handed him a 5” senko wacky rigged…he thought I was joking with him, caught a bass first cast

Lol that’s almost exactly what happened the first time I told my brother to cast out a wacky rig too. He said “what is this dumb looking thing? No fish is going to eat this.” Sure enough 3 casts later a decent largemouth was on there.

Green Pumpkin with a light stripe on the bottom = Baby Bass. Works in all water clear or stained.

In case anyone is interested, senkos are now available in BULK sizes of 50 or 100 directly from the Yamamoto website. Limited colors for now.
