I picked up a weird trout jig at Walmart a month ago because it looked interesting. Was pink and had 2 little fingers for the tail. Tried it out that day and the crappies SLAMMED it! I used it a couple weeks later and had some decent success.
I’ve used TriggerX, Clam, and Gulp, and I have the best luck with Clam Maki plastics. I’m not sure what it is but they seem to get bit and held on to more for me.
the Trigger X wax tails (too bad you cant buy just the tails anymore), I like the Shrimpo/Ratso tails from Custom Jigs & Spins, and as of this season I started using the Clam Spiki tails with good success (they tear easier and you wont get as many fish per tail because they are softer.

I’m a more live bait type of guy but when I do need to use plastics you cant beat B Y baits they seem more realistic and have alot of different options to pic from.

I just got a bunch of wax tails (not pre rigged) from Karl’s Bait and tackle. http://www.shopkarls.com
They are getting harder to find but with some internet searching I found a few out there.
