I’m restocking my frog box and locking to see what else every one likes to throw for hollow body frogs.

I like the spro series. They aren’t cheap but they are high quality. I also just bought a terminator one but I haven’t used it yet. The boo yah pad Crasher is decent for the lower cost it has too.

Nothing wrong with the Trophy series Scum Frog. They have been around for a long time and are cheap (under $2 on sale). I have looked into the nicer looking frogs that are on the marker today, but I think those catch fishermen more than they will catch more fish at x4+ the cost. Even walleye like the Scum Frog.

I’m a big fan of the Booyah series – popping version around sparse/moderate cover and the regular frog in thicker stuff. The other I’ve started using is the small Terminator frog, its still heavy enough to cast pretty far. Sometimes I think fish get so conditioned to standard frogs… and the smaller one worked a little slower can be just different enough at times to get wary bass to bite.

Hey Frydog, you wouldn’t have happened to have been up at LOTW recently, would you? Saw a picture on LOTW FB page of a couple of guys holding a sturgeon that looks like you and Steve Pennaz, out on the lake and not the river.

Funny, well yes the rumor is true… I just saw some of the rough cut video from the upcoming show and I’m still exhausted from watching. Crazy catching a 65 inch/pound fish on a medium light rod, 8 lb test… and no net. Only took us an hour!

We caught some other fish too, fun times.

Was this the photo, there may be a couple floating around..

Yup, that’s the one. Can you share what video you were shooting?

My current favorite is a Snag Proof Phat frog in black. Caught a lot of 20”+ the last year. I just picked up a 13 fishing Trash Panda in bluegill that looks like it’ll work good. Nice keel, hooks are well protected, and body material is soft. Otherwise Pad Crashers

I only saw a few parts of the video so far and it’s still being edited. The show will air this January on the Outdoor Channel.

I really like the Spro Bronzeyes. Seem to get the best hooking percentage with them. They cast like a dream as well.

Spro Bronzeye and Booyah Padcrasher. Don’t sleep on the popping frogs either. They sometimes work better than the regular frogs.

I saw that post also….Didn’t realize we had another TV personality on the show, and one that frequents the bass section no less!

Ha! I’m no pro by a long shot… I think Steve just needs a “tomato can” like me to beat up on the water once in awhile ;). He beat me in a river/smallmouth show a couple of years ago so this was my chance to even the score. You’ll have to tune in to find out who won the final fish count not just the biggest.

You can’t always catch the big one!
