I would also add that fish tacos are one of my favorite entrees. I’ll take any fish in a tortilla with cabbage and chipotle mayo.

No one mentioned channel catfish, so no body likes to eat mud.

Flathead, done right would surprise a lot of you. #1 on my list.

Catfish nuggets and or strips are delicious but you have to put them in the small nuggets or strips

Winner, winner fish dinner! Something about the tang of the slaw with the fish.

I will keep my list to fish that I catch without extensive travel.

    Northern Pike
    Trout
    Crappie/Bluegill/Sunfish
    Perch
    Walleye
Bass, only when the water is cold
    Catfish

I havent done it in years but growing up I liked smoked carp.

    I wont keep any Muskies.

Also I wont keep fish if the water temp is above 72 or so, to be honest if its too high (above 76) I usually wont fish or I will do my best to catch and release as quick as possible.

One of the oddest fish I ever tasted was smoked bullhead. A coworker’s dad commercial trapped and smoked them. Man that was a surprise how good those were.

oh yeah there awesome. As kids my brother and I caught bullheads by the bushel basket had an elderly guy would smoke them for 25 to 50 cents.

I know right? I don’t know how many times I saw fish tacos on a menu and though that’s weird, no thanks. Then I tried it and I’ve been, pardon the pun, hooked.

The only thing I don’t like is if they put cheese on it. If I see that as an ingredient I’ll pass because I assume they really don’t know how to make fish tacos.

I really just need those 3 ingredients. There is a place here that makes jerk fish tacos. Jerk style fish, slaw and Chipotle mayo. The bomb. My favorite place to get fish tacos.

Charred oysters are good too. I always thought oysters are meant to be eaten raw….until I tried them charred. Now if they have both on the menu it’s a difficult decision.
