Just curious what everyone’s favorite Dubuque rig rod is, especially when using 1/2 oz jig heads?

I don’t think in MN we can use the Dubuque or bull rig. Are you looking for a rod that can handle 1 oz of weight bottom bouncing? If that is that case I like the Okuma Dead Eye telescoping rod in 8’-6”. DEP-CBR-861M-T. I picked two of them up on sale at FF for $50 each. They are hard to beat for the price. They are very sensitive and has a lure rating of ½ to 3 oz.

The newer Ugly Sticks do the job just fine. Spending top dollar for Dubuque rigging rods or lighter bottom bouncing rods (.5 – 2oz) is pointless in most applications. This isn’t trying to feel a walleye suck up a 1/8 ounce jig in 25′ of water. Mine pull double duty. Rigged with any reel that has a flipping switch and you’re set for 2 popular river techniques for a decent price.

St croix bounce and troll are good. Agree that a reel with a flipping switch make a huge difference.

I use a 7’ ML spinning rod for up to 3/4 oz.

Limit Creek 5′-10 MLF. Same rods Marty Hahn uses while guiding on Pool 4.

Used them with Denver also, I was impressed.

Marty years back always ran a 7 ft med action spinning. That is what I use as well, but I prefer that action especially when we have to go to a 3/4 oz jig and hand holding it for a full day.

As long as both jigs are within 9″. It’s legal.

I thought in MN they view that as using 2 lines since you could catch 2 fish at the same time.

Two hooks separated by no more than 9″ of fishing line. Legal. MN lure

I think the 2 hooks are supposed to be in 1 bait, quick strike, crawler harness, ect.

I got a 7′ Croix Triumph when they first came out (and cheap) I use it for bottom bouncing.

As far as the 2 hooks I’d have to put my money on FBRM.

Inland im talking only. That’s border, where two hooks legal in any way.

Border regs you can run 2 or 3 rods.

You guys are tough some days
