Sitting around drinking with the neighbors playing cribbage. Enjoy cribbage as much as the next man but curious about what other games you fellas play I could check out. Doesn’t have to be a card game can be a board game or yard game….
I play cribbage on fishing trips, 2,3 or 4 handed depending on who’s around. During the rest of the year my game is 500 with a group of guys at church on Monday mornings and a couples group twice a month. High stakes: no money at church and $1 a night in the couples group. You might actually win $3! On Monday mornings a ladies group also meets at church and they bring treats that they share with us. That’s better than $3.
Cribbage is the only game that I play regularly. There is a board and deck that never leaves my duffel bag. The white board during ice fishing trips lists fish caught and games won.
I have metal plinking targets set up all over my farm plus other random targets. We shoot a lot of dueling matches. Love when money is involved, usually pays for all my reloading supplies
Rummikub is really fun. Also, the horse racing game using change is a fun, competitive game for the family of all ages. I want to start building boards.
Hollywood gin rummy with the deer hunting crew. It replaced poker many years ago, stopped near fights amongst guys who’d been in the army in Korea. Stakes went from paychecks to $20 lost being a bad night. Drinking went from a case of liquor for the first several days of the season to case of beer. Much more hunting got done after the change.
Basement games: pool, foosball, bubble hockey, ping pong, and air hockey are always fun.
Yard games: life size Jinga, bags, badminton, beer darts.
Lots of different board games and card games. Our top is Sorry, Monopoly, Uno, Euchre, King’s corners, and cards against humanity.
