What’s your favorite Canadian province?
I’ve only been fishing in Ontario and skiing in BC.
Which one would you be most tempted to move to?

There’s no way I’d move up there. That country is a disaster in every aspect.
Haha that didn’t take long.
I’ve only been in Ontario personally so can’t comment on the others.
When the zombie apocalypse comes I’ll head up to the kenora unorganized territory. Lotta room to hideout up there.

thats one of the reasons canada needs to become the 51st state. It would be better for everyone.
fished in both Ontario and Manitoba……. liked them both. wouldnt move there though.
Manitoba was probably the most wild country i ever saw. we fished Lake Sipiwesk way up there……actually that system went into the Hudson bay!!!!!

Same for me. BC is more beautiful but Ontario has it for me with all the lakes.
People like to hate on Sask. I’m sure the winters suck but their summers and falls are pretty awesome. No people and the hunting and fishing opportunities are endless. I love the rolling plains though which most people do not.

my dad went to Sask moose and goose hunting……
With the politics in Canada being worse then any one’s ever seen, I wouldn’t move there but if so I’d be between sask and Ontario. Hard to know if I want to fish or hunt more.
Quebec is fantastic, I love the food and culture and, of course, the Atlantic salmon fishing. Winter sports are also great up there.
Nova Scotia and Newfoundland are beautiful and the accent makes me smile. Legendary brook trout as well.
BC is beautiful in the summer, especially Vancouver Island. Spent 2 weeks out there last summer.
Never considered until you brought it up, but the area around London, Ontario would be an awesome spot!
25 miles to Lake Erie Walleyes and 25 miles to Lake Huron Salmon!!! How fricken sweet would that be
Still enough population centers nearby for work too.
And milder winters!
I got the chance to hunt in Alberta, north of Calgary. Moose, waterfowl, elk, white tail, mule deer, bears and the occasional lion. Was an hour to the mountains for sheep hunting. Beautiful country, rolling hills, fields and trees. Friendly people. I would love to go back. The only downside was no lakes to speak of.
Depends on my age. If I could flash back to early 20’s getting lost in BC or the Yukon for my life might have been fun. Now, it would be Onterio I suppose.
If Canada does join the US, I imagine there would be a pretty large redistribution of people. Lots of people from California and Washington would probably move to BC and people in the Midwest would probably move to Ontario and Manitoba.
I’ll have to check out that Kenora area.
I was wondering where the roads end in the different provinces, like Red Lake in Ontario.

That would get really interesting. Those French Canadians hate Americans. Wonder how that would work out?
If Canada does join the US
I don’t think they’re fans of the idea
Theres a better chance of congress being all upstanding honest people than Canada ever becoming a state.

Are the politics worse up there than they are here? I was up there last weekend and didnt see signs in anyone’s yards or hear any political talk between all of the stops I made in Fort Frances or Kenora before fishing on LOTW
Seemed like everyone just minded their own business and was polite as Canadians usually are. Not sure if anyone has had a negative experience in Canada over the past few months?
Only been to Ontario. London and Toronto for work. Once around Lake Superior for a trip. The area on the North Shore is beautiful.

A completely stupid assertion. Odds are you’ve never even been to Quebec.
Also, I think with some actual experience, you’ll find Americans in general aren’t hitting popularity highs with anyone, anywhere in Canada. It may have something to do with ridiculous talk about taking over their country.
Canadian people are awesome but their government sucks. I would never move there full time but there could be a day I buy a second house in SK so I can spend September through early November hunting waterfowl with a little upland mixed in.
I have been to BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario. They all have their own qualities and cool spots. The Canadian Rockies in BC and Alberta are way cooler than all the places I’ve been to in the Rockies in the US and I’ve been to a lot of it. Saskatchewan is my waterfowl playground. Ontario is my favorite for fishing.

Just wait until you figure out what’s really going on with politics in the US.
Theres very few places I’ve been to that I yearn to return to, but the Northwest Territories is one of them. Ive spent plenty of time in Ontario and a bit of time in Manitoba. But wouldn’t want to live there.
Canada is so different from East to West it would be hard to pick a favorite. Similar to picking if you like Maine, Minnesota,North Dakota, Montana or Washington better. Each offer something totally different. I’ve been from Quebec to Manitoba and just those three are very different. Ontario is like northern Minnesota so that would be my pick, but I’d like to go to the maritimes at some point.
As far as Canada being the 51st state, being a former Canadian I say not only no but h3ll no. That’s a whole can of worms we don’t need. It’s a nice place to visit but that’s it. Although it would be fun watching my relatives freak out.
I would move to Northern Manitoba… at least 40 miles from any “town”. I know just the spot.
There is not a province that currently I would move to. Buddy has owned property in sunset county for 30 years on lotw. We usualy spend 4-6 weeks a year up there and have many canadian friends that live there year round and some that live in the states in the winter. It’s fun to visit but I could never live there. It’s funny anytime there is an event in the area they all get excited like something spectacular is going to happen. I could see the winters up there getting very long you can only do so many winter activites and when is -30 they really become limited. Also the ones that do winter there have happy hour 4-7 days a week! One thing that turned me off is what they had to do during covid they were confined to there propeties for 4 weeks at a time and you could not even have a person come to your property and sit in the front yard. The used cellphone pinging to know there location, scary stuff.
