Heading up for a long weekend bringing my dad and uncle fishing, looking for some tips to make sure we have a productive weekend.

I normally go up in late August, so I’m not sure the spots and patterns I normally fish would produce.

Not looking for secret spots or anything, just general depths/patterns people are seeing this time of year.

We are headed up as well this Saturday for a week on Rainy, this will be our 4th year. We do pretty well on walleyes pulling leaches on spinners and bottom bouncers in 15-25′ around structure. Slip bobbers in those same areas are productive too. We have had the best success with leaches but never really tried crawlers. Last couple years we’ve found bass very tight to the shoreline and good top water action. It seems we catch pike everywhere but the shallower bays have produced a lot of action for us. Use your electronics, if you are not marking fish move on. There is a lot of water to explore.
