Water levels at the launches are really low right now. Weeds are to the surface out to about 12 foot contour line depending on the bottom type. Farm Island Store should have a selection of bait and the most current report.

Gotta be some heavy boat traffic that time of year.

FYI – The pond is only a hop skip and a jump from there.

I fish Farm Island a lot. Good walleye lake, with most of my success coming off mid-lake weed edges. Wind is important, and fish the windy side. I have on occasion found walleyes suspended over deep water at the depth the weeds grow to. There are some rock humps that can be good, but day in and day out the weed line is the ticket. Wind is key, not very good in flat calm conditions. Had good success throwing a shiver minnow out into deep water near a weed bed also. Good Luck!

Farm island fishes pretty typical to general walleye lakes but be prepared to catch most fish in the protected slot…this is walleye of course.

But it’s also a great pike lake
