I’m thinking of using a Fanny Pack hand warmer when ice fishing. Does anybody use one ice fishing and which ones keep your hands warm?

I have a Cabela’s house brand blaze orange hand muff the I use for deer hunting and ice fishing. Take a disposable hand warmer and stuff it inside, strap it around your waist and you are good to go. It is all synthetic materials, machine washable so the fish smell comes out.

Bring a towel to dry your hands or inside of muff will start to get wet. First time you don’t want a wet muff!!

Lol, I wish I could pull a monster wheel house out on Roosie.
    I’d live there all winter.
But for now it’s waliking and an otter sled.
I’m hoping later on I can get the SBS out there.

If you’re planning on using one along with the lawnchair on the mall this February might I suggest this?

    Greeting and Happy Holidays,
I have poor circulation in my hands and feet. Days when I do not have My Mr. Heater I wear mittens and use Hot Hands when ice fishing. The only down fall is when I am catching fish the glove fly off and I have more company.

I also have cold hands and feet from late October through about April. Those Ice Armor gloves are real nice. Doesn’t really help the situation EPG describes but when I really really need to keep my hands warm I’ve got those same Ice Armor gloves. It’s one big club of a hand so there’s no dexterity so you pretty much need to take the gloves off to do anything, but to keep warm they’re real nice.

Just get a zippo with the butane it last you good 8 hours and keep it in a muff.

Anybody remember Johnny Heaters, just like Zippo but twice as hot lol.

Not to throw you in a different direction but I got a free Milwaukee M12 hand warmer fanny pack with something else I bought late last winter and haven’t had the chance to use it much but when I have used it it is great, heats up fast. I cant speak much to battery life as I have a bunch of M12 batteries and a heated vest and coat so it is easy to swap batteries for me.

Any that are waterproof and fleece lined on the inside will work, whether it is one made specifically for hunting or fishing or even a Nike one made for football. I really struggle with cold fingers, but also like the sensitivity and feeling of a pole in my bare hand while hole hopping. I have found that wearing one of these, with a hand warmer inside of it, and no gloves on, is a pretty good way to go. I can periodically place my hand inside the pouch and hold the hand warmer and warm my hands up pretty quick.
