My last night guiding for the year was Halloween.

I thought Naomi was just too weak to bring in the 50″+ fish. Turned out to be a 64″. I apologized.
It was too bad Bob’s fish came in a only 58″. He wanted to out do her so bad. Just wasn’t in the cards.

The smaller sturgeon where on a chew as well as the shovels. Only one channel cat (10.25 pounds) which was odd I thought as the week prior they were biting like sunfish.

Crawlers were the dinner of choice for us.

Awesome way to end the year!

Fantastic! I’m going to keep trying until I hear the walleye are up in greater numbers. I’d like to hit a 55″+ sturgeon yet this year.

Largest I’ve seen/heard of so far this year is a 66 (without the tail bent down) by a newbie. Brent King.

Keep in mind you’ll need to target channel cats and shovelnose sturgeon as the catch and release lake sturgeon season is not open in WI waters at this time. We expect it next year. waytogo

Of course, and it could have been small shovelnose that kept stealing all of our bait on Sunday!

The MN portion of the border waters are open for the catch and release season. Just not the WI side to target sturgeon.
