Famous wingdams

I was thinking the other day about some of these wing dams, how many thousands of fish have been caught off them over the years and how many hundreds of pounds of lead is down there stuck in the revetment. I bet “picnic table” has about 10 grand of tackle on it. I still never saw an actual picnic table on the wing-ey,and now that Gary has retired from fishing the river I’ll probably never get the story on how that one was named.

Think a picnic table drifted by while they where fishing it.

There’s a picnic table back in the trees just upriver from that wing dam. It’s hard to see it now since the brush has grown up. And at least 300 pound of jigs on that one are mine doah

I know none of these mythic places and have struggled fishing the river the few times that I have attempted it. Would any of you gents be kind enough to offer me a trip on your boat sometime this fall and show a young guy a thing or two about catching walleyes on the river?

actually I do! they are more designed for warm waters though they aren’t heavy duty cold weather waders. if it means you will take me out fishing the river though nhamm i will get some cold weather ones cause that sounds like a blast! ive been getting into duck hunting the last few years and have been meaning to get some anyway

When I saw the subject “Famous Wingdams” the first thing that came to mind was #3 on pool 4.

More people (and motors) have had an intimate relationship with that wingdam then any other I know followed closely by #2.

    Hence “famous”.
