A terrible tragedy today in Wisconsin.
Not a lot of information out yet, but please keeps the officers families in your thoughts.
A terrible event. My prayers to the friends and families of those officers.
Just Terrible. A tragedy. Read about it this morning. Prayers for the 2 officer’s families, friends, and coworkers.
Only good thing is the perp died also.
Something seems wierd about this event. I saw that one of the cops was a female but I have seen zero info on the perp yet…
Some things can’t be explained.
March 1990 a Grant County Deputy was shot and killed as he approached a tractor without lights on at a little after midnight. 18 year old farm helper shot him as he walked up to the tractor. The boy had a couple misdemeanors on his record and just snapped. No drugs involved that night or on his record. Just panicked and shot him with the 22 rifle carried on the tractor. He is still in jail. Tragedy for both families involved.
Officer down is bad any time, but Easter…..prayer to the families for such a tragedy at this special time.
Something seems wierd about this event.
That is an odd statement. Other than the fact one would hope things like this did not ever happen.
I saw that one of the cops was a female
Her brother’s family lives in my town and her niece is my niece’s best friend.
Huge tragedy.
During Easter dinner my sister mentioned it was a car jacking suspect. Does anybody know why they were pulling the vehicle over?
From the Wisconsin Department of Justice:
At approximately 3:38 p.m., Chetek Police Officer Emily Breidenbach, age 32, with approximately 5 years of law enforcement service, along with Cameron Police Officer Hunter Scheel, age 23, with approximately one year of law enforcement service, conducted a traffic stop in the Village of Cameron. The officers were conducting the traffic stop based on a warrant and to check welfare of the driver, Glenn Douglas Perry, age 50, following notification of concerning behavior. During the traffic stop, gunfire was exchanged.
The following is now third party hearsay, but it comes from a close family member in law enforcement in the area.
It’s also tragic/difficult to read.
I’ve been told: the female officer (Emily) pulled a driver over who had a warrant for child support.
She radioed in for a backup officer to assist.
While waiting for backup to arrive, the driver pulled out a rifle and assassinated her while she was seated in her squad.
When her backup officer arrived (Hunter), he pulled up behind her squad and saw blood/glass. He pulled out his rifle and exchanged gunfire with the suspect. The male officer was hit in the shoulder while continuing to shoot at the suspect. The suspect was hit but was able to continue shooting and hit the male officer in the head, killing him. The suspect later died from his wounds.
Again this is all hearsay and may not be 100% accurate, but either way, what happened is tragically disturbing.
Please keep the officers and families in your hearts, they both gave their lives protecting and serving the great people in the area. Both were young and died far too soon.
