A few of us from IDO (James, Pat, Ben and myself) spent last week at Trappers Landing on Leech Lake. As always, Josh was very helpful in providing useful information that put us on the fish. We tried a few spots such as Diamond Point, Clay Banks, and others around Bear Island with some success. Wind was howling all week, with Monday and Tuesday showing gusts up to 40-45 mph! The wind and rain don’t bother us, but the easiest and best fishing was right from shore at Trappers Landing, and we are told the bite will stay that way until first ice. If you are looking for a nice place to stay that caters to families but offers up great fishing – check out the IDO Members special right now at Trappers Landing. Bring the boat if you’d like, otherwise casting Rapala’s or using a slip bobber setup is the way to go right next to the boat harbor (from shore). Be sure to talk with Josh, or Mike at Trappers to get the inside scoop!

Thanks guys for coming up and visiting us again. The fishing is still good right from shore, its nice especially with those northwest winds in the fall. Looks like you had some good fish on deck and look forward to seeing you guys again.

Thanks Josh, hopefully we are back sooner rather than later. You guys do a great job.
