Johnson’s Portside Facebook Page has the full results.

My interpretation of this year’s results is that last year’s results painted an overly optimistic picture. For better or worse the netting data is the data and the data is how decisions will be made. And the data says last year’s results were an outlier.

My prediction is that next year’s open water season it will be back to catch and release fishing only.

I looked at that too. Did you notice that in a addition to walleye, both Northern Pike and Yellow Perch (over age 1) were also down from last year also?
Coincidence? If there was truly a decline in predator fish, you might think there’d be an uptick in forage fish.

I agree data is data, but do you think all these fish populations declined from last year? Or do you think last years data was flawed?

If last year’s data was flawed, then what data can you believe?

I agree though with your prediction about next open water being C&R only. There was a lot of blowback when the walleye season closed completely in September this year.
